May 8, 2019 – Hewitt, TX – Friend of Midway Awarded to Alissa Cady

Each year, Midway ISD recognizes members of the community in appreciation of their dedicated support of MISD’s children and their education.Friends of Midway receive a custom-blown glass bowl in Midway colors created by art teacher Bob Rynearson.

This year, GHC Executive Director Alissa Cady was chosen. “I was beyond surprised and extremely grateful to receive the Friend of Midway award during the chamber’s monthly board meeting. It’s rare when I’m not sure of what’s going on, and the MISD and Chamber teams did a wonderful job of surprising me with this special and meaningful recognition. I appreciate the relationships I’ve established as well as the opportunity given to serve the district on several levels, committees and capacities,” says Cady. Cady serves on Midway’s Facilities Planning Committee, Baylor University/Midway Middle School PDS Committee, supports promotion of the Education Foundation’s secret Prize Posse grant-awarding ceremonies and is VP of Fundraising at South Bosque Elementary, where her 3 children attend. Through her position at the chamber, Cady assists the Scholarship Committee and student application process, Hunger Free MISD, Student of The Year recognitions and district communications.
