May 8, 2019 – Hewitt, TX – The Greater Hewitt Chamber is proud to support Hunger Free MISD

The Greater Hewitt Chamber of Commerce strives to provide exceptional service not only to their members, but also to serve the needs in their community. On April 27, 2019, the Nacho Daddy Car Show & Concert presented by HEB was held at Warren Park and included a kids zone, several vendors, food trucks, the crowd-attracting car show and concert as entertainment. “We’re excited to establish an event that provides our local families a safe and entertainment-filled evening as well as to attract visitors to town and showcase the beautiful Creekside Amphitheater, just a two year old addition,” says Executive Director Alissa Cady. It takes a village to arrange an event of this magnitude, and it would not be possible without our leadership, sponsors and amazing volunteers.” Greater Hewitt Chamber Board Member Amy Lanehart, Store Manager for HEB Woodway presented a check to Dr. George KAZANAS, Superintendent of Midway ISD, a check in the amount of $1,000 dedicated to Hunger Free.

Hunger Free MISD sends backpacks full of nutrition food home with food insecure students over weekends and holiday breaks. Students are selected from all ages and campuses based on counselor recommendations and parent acknowledgement.

Car enthusiasts should mark their calendars now for Sat., April 25, 2020, for the 5th Annual Nacho Daddy Car Show & Concert. Event chairperson Donny Hunter expects the event to continue to grow, bring more folks in to town and support the Greater Hewitt Chamber’s mission to positively impact and support future community needs.
