Raymond Kampermann, RPT*, of Woodway, Texas, was among more than 600 attendees, including piano service specialists, manufacturers and suppliers, who attended the Piano Technicians Guild Annual Convention and Technical Institute last month.

“I couldn’t be more excited by the energy and excitement I felt at this year’s convention,” said PTG President Phil Bondi, RPT. “Attendance was up and people seemed genuinely excited about opportunities the event was preparing them for.”

This year’s event offered 275 total hours of classroom and hands-on learning led by more than 90 instructors from around the world. More than half of the classes offered were new for the 2015 Convention.

“Piano technicians live in a world where tradition and technology meet,” Bondi said. “It’s amazing how far we can now go in the coupling of old and new technologies. It’s leading the way to an exciting future for our members and the treasured instruments they care for.”

“It’s always encouraging to meet with my colleagues from around the world and share ideas about our business, as well as our love for the piano. I learned a lot during the convention and can’t wait to start implementing some of the things I learned to help my customers continue to take the best care possible of their pianos.” said Raymond Kampermann, owner of Kampermann Piano Center.
