July 6, 2020 – Waco, TX- 25 News to raise awareness and funds for food pantries in Bell, McLennan, and Brazos County on Wednesday, July 8th.

For years, 25 News has hosted summer food drives for children in the area who can no longer receive school meals. This year, there is significantly more need in the community and donations have drastically reduced over the length of the pandemic. That’s why 25 News is partnering with food pantries across Central Texas and the Brazos Valley to Feed the Need.

Your gift can go a long way, just $25 can feed a family of four. Donating is easy, just visit KXXV.com and click on the Feed the Need link. Viewers can select from the list of participating pantries to decide where they would like to donate. Pantries include: Shepherd’s Heart, Salvation Army, Caritas, Operation Feeding Temple, Killeen Food Care Center, Nolanville Food Pantry, and the Brazos Valley Food Bank.

“The mission of KXXV & KRHD is to make a difference in the communities we serve,” says 25 News Vice President and General Manager Adam Chase. “This is why we are matching the first $12,000 raised on July 8. Our hope is that during this pandemic, our community can rest assured that there will be food on their tables.” The one-day drive will begin in the Good Morning Texas newscast and continue until the 10 p.m. newscast. 25 News wants to make a difference for families and give hope to those going through a difficult time with the Feed the Need Summer Drive because hunger doesn’t take a summer vacation.
