The Hewitt Lions Club is currently accepting applications for the Homer Warren scholarship.  The $1000 scholarship will be awarded to a Midway High School senior prior to the end of the school year.

HLC LogoApplications are available at the Midway High School counselor’s office or online (see link above).  The application, along with three faculty recommendation letters, must be turned in to the counselor’s office by May 20.

The 2014-2015 scholarship winner, Mikeal Parsons, went on to attend Harvard University.

In addition to the scholarship, the club donates time and funds to several local causes and charities, including Food for Families, Toys for Tots and Caritas.

The Hewitt Lions Club has 25 members and meets on the second and fourth Monday of the month at 6:30 p.m. at Rosati’s Pizza on Hewitt Drive. Lions clubs are groups of men and women who identify needs within the community and work together to fulfill those needs.
